Utility Calculators

This calculator created by Queen's University Mechanical Engineering Professor Darko Matovik, measures vending machine energy consumption. Simply input how many vending machines you have on campus in both calculators and you will have an estimate of how much money your university spends on keeping these machines running (yes the university pays and this sizable reduces the often-touted financial benefits of beverage exclusivity contracts). Queen's University spends between $75, 000 to $175, 000 a year which greatly reduces their 'cash for access' deal valued at $500,000.
