Civil society groups, trade unions, affected communities and MEP’s, will gather at a conference in Brussels later this week to urge the EU to promote an International People’s Treaty & International Tribunal that regulates transnational corporations and investments for the public interest.

New corporate profile highlights controversial record of multinational P3 giant

Ottawa, ON – With allegations of fraud, money-laundering, and bribery in Canada and around the world, the scandals plaguing SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. have been well publicized. Yet municipal governments across Canada are still considering entering into public-private partnerships (P3s) with the controversial multinational corporation.

Swamp line 9 occupation in Hamilton - Injunction leads to arrests

Things are heating up just outside of Hamilton after 5 days of an occupation closing down Enbridge's Westover pump station. Today, courts have issued an injunction at the request of Enbridge Inc. demanding that protesters leave Enbridge's property. Protesters responded by locking themselves down at the Pumping station with no clear intention to leave.

Tuesday May 21st, The Hague, Netherlands - Today members of the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation (ACFN) and the Native Village of Point Hope, Alaska attended the Royal Dutch Shell AGM to confront the Chairman and Board over Shell's decision to pursue highly risky 'extreme energy' projects without adequate consultation and accommodation of Indigenous communities. Projects such as Arctic off-shore drilling and tar sands will have little long term benefit for the company, and expose it to reputational damage, political and financial risk, including litigation.

This declaration comes as a result of the activities of the Climate Space at the World Social Forum 2013 in Tunis, Tunisia. The Polaris Institute co-organized two of the 14 Climate Space workshops and was one of the 20 facilitators.

The Climate Space inside the World Social Forum 2013 in Tunisia was organized as a space to discuss the causes, impacts, struggles, alternatives and strategies to address climate change.
