Our Security Program aims to assist citizens in responding to the human rights challenges of increased militarism and security in a post 9/11 world. The ongoing war on terror has created a new political climate in which the links between economic and military security have been intensified. Nowhere is this more clear than in the renewel of U.S.-Canada relations. Canada's new leading role in the Afghan war, coupled with increasing military integration with the U.S. and close collaboration on homeland security issues, plus the new security and propserity pact promoted by big business in both countries, raises serious social and human rights questions. Through this program, we hope to provide some tools for citizen education and action on these and related security isues.

Groups Call on Government to Implement Maher Arar Inquiry Recomendations Now!

Thursday, October 25, 2007, The Associated Press, OTTAWA - A U.S. peace activist who has been barred from Canada after past arrests for anti-war activities put her on an FBI crime database was denied entry again Thursday, despite having an invitation from several members of Parliament.
